Our story
An old house on Chapel Street
The building started life as a merchant's townhouse in the 1890s. When we took it over, the balconies were held up by hope and the cellar was full of old wine crates. We kept the stone, the arches and the chapel bell above the door, and rebuilt everything else around a simple idea: a small hotel where people actually remember your name.
The cellar became the Cappella Casino, the ground floor our coffee house, and the roof a pool with one of the better sunsets in St. Julian's.

Cappella Coffee House
Coffee first, then the sea
We roast small batches of beans on the ground floor every morning, which is why the lobby smells the way it does. Breakfast is served here, and the coffee house stays open to the street for neighbours and passers-by until late.

The Cappella Casino
One floor below the lobby, the Cappella Casino keeps the feel of an old Maltese members' club: low lamps, green felt and a bar that remembers your order by the second night. It is a land-based casino with slot machines, European roulette, blackjack, baccarat and a poker room, open to hotel guests and visitors aged 18 and over.
